In 2005 the Naylor family decided that they needed a change. Bill and Laurie grew up, met, married and started their family on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. Life was good but they both knew it could be better.
While helping out a friend who had recently purchased a New Hampshire campground, Bill ran into the owner of Happy Day Campground in Washington, New Hampshire. It turns out the campground was for sale. After much soul searching, research and many visits to the property; Bill and Laurie decided to take a leap of faith and totally turn their life around.
Life is sure completely different now! In May of 2005 the Naylor family took possession of Happy Days Campground, changing the name to Idle Times Campground, and moved in lock, stock and barrel. With less than two weeks before opening for the season; friends and family descended to help get things in shape. Thanks to them, Idle Times Campground opened on May 14, 2005 for their first summer season.
Changes continue to be made as Bill and Laurie work towards making their campground the highlight of their visitor's summer and winter vacations. They've created a new store, a new laundry room, new rec room, added a gourmet pizza chef and made many campsite upgrades. In the future expect to see a pool, a new play ground and we'll continue to expand our number of both daily and seasonal sites.
In the meantime, enjoy Idle Times Campground now. Come up and meet Laurie, Bill, Stephen and Matthew Naylor. They'd love to get to know you and welcome you to their home.
